On Monday, September 9, 2024, the Midday Rotary Club Girls' Empowerment Program team and teachers gave a presentation in preparation for the beginning of the new school session. The event was attended by several representatives of the Secretary of Education of Guanajuato and directors and teachers from the schools participating in the next stage of the program from September to December. More than 50 people attended, and 100% of the 22 participating schools were represented. Sixteen of the original pilot program schools were included in the group, as the program returns to teach a new group of 5th and 6th grade girls.

In this presentation to the educational authorities, the program teachers summarized the content of each of the program’s five modules, generating great interest, support and excitement. In addition, the attendees were informed of the school selection process, schedules and special requirements for the arrival of the instructional teams. Attendees were also reminded that the girls’ mothers are welcome to participate in the first session with their daughters in order to better understand the nature and content of the program and to foster a united community among the women.

By the end of this school session, more than 3,100 girls will have been taught and empowered through the Girls’ Empowerment Program.
