Rotary Members' Outing to Tierra y Amor

The Midday Rotary Club had an excellent outing to Tierra y Amor, a new ecotourism destination with a honey/beehive museum. The grounds were spectacular, as was the history and details on honey-making.

They have 50 hives with 500 bees apiece. Together they can produce as much as two tons of honey a month, though they only harvest once a year as not to overburden the bees. We learned about the value of mesquite both to the hives and Mexican agriculture, and how the quartz beneath San Miguel gives us positive energy including keeping us free from earthquakes.

This adventure was pure fellowship, and we were happy to have so many Rotarians, spouses, and friends in tow!
