Midday Rotary Celebrates Mother's Day 2024

​Mother's Day celebrations in Mexico started just over a century ago. Unlike the U.S.A., Mother's Day in Mexico is celebrated on May 10, rather than the second Sunday in May.  "El Dia de la Madre” is a moment to show appreciation to moms, come together with family, and acknowledge the significant role mothers play in everyone's lives. 

Midday Rotarians took part in two Mother's Day activities this year. The club organized a Mother's Day flower giveaway near Plaza Civica, with 5 members distributing 200 roses to mothers on the street. Simultaneously, Escuela de Educación Especial de San Miguel de Allende hosted its annual Mother's Day celebration, honoring mothers who began queuing up at the school's doors 30 minutes before opening. The event featured tributes, performances by deaf students, interactive games for the moms to join in and, of course, food.
